Scripture: Mark 10:13–16
Our God is the healer of our bodies and, ultimately, our souls. While on earth, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ gave His disciples authority and sent them out to heal the sick, among other things.
Memory verse: “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.”
1 Corinthians 4:20
After Pentecost, about three thousand people were added to the church in a single day. Their transformation came through Jesus Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit, and it led them into a life of fellowship and fruitfulness. Our unity, too, must be found in Christ alone, the true Vine.
Evangelism and missions are two expressions of God’s redemptive plan. Evangelism is the local proclamation of the gospel, sharing Christ within our immediate environment: family, workplace, and community.
Ephesians 2:10 describes us as God’s masterpiece, created anew in Christ Jesus for the good works He has prepared for us. A masterpiece is something carefully formed with intention and purpose. In the same way, our lives are not accidents.
Many people think revival is primarily about powerful meetings, miracles, or emotional experiences. While God certainly works in those ways, the greatest revival takes place when a sinner is born again.
God’s primary calling for us is not merely to do something for Him, but to become like Jesus. Romans 8:29 says that God chose His people to become like His Son.
Closing a rich month of fellowship, this message calls us to hold unswervingly to our hope, spur one another on, and not give up meeting together as we await Christ’s return.
