Scripture: Daniel 1:1–8 · Daniel 3:16–18
Missions is the expansion of God’s kingdom to all nations. Daniel exemplifies this calling in a foreign context. After the fall of Jerusalem (Daniel 1:1–6), Daniel and his friends Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah were taken to Babylon and embedded within a pagan system of governance.
Memory verse: “But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.”
Daniel 1:8 (NIV)
